Carter Ray, TROY 2021, was initiated into the Fraternity on Nov. 5, 2016. One week after being initiated, he was elected to be his chapter’s delegate on Troy University’s Interfraternity Council and served in this role until December of 2018. Ray was elected by the council to serve as its president during his sophomore year. Additionally,he has served as his chapter’s Risk Management Chairman and house manager. In 2018, Carter was a member of the Grand Council, representing the Alabama/Gulf Coast province, at its biennial meeting in Chicago. Seventieth Grand Consul Geddings, SOUTH CAROLINA 1985, appointed Ray to serve as an undergraduate member of the Derby Days philanthropic event taskforce committee in September 2018. Additionally, Ray is a certified Ritual Peer.
Ray enjoys serving his university and is involved in many different campus organizations. Currently, he is serving his third term as a senator in the Student Senate and is chairman of the Constitution and Rules Committee of the Senate. Carter also is a student ambassador for Troy University and enjoys welcoming guests to campus and working special events. Some of his hobbies include fishing, hunting, landscaping, politics and attending church functions. Ray is a Geospatial Informatics major and plans to become a licensed land surveyor after graduating. Additionally, he plans to run for public office and become involved in local and state politics.
