CHAPTER EDITOR DUTIES

Howdy! Welcome to the Chapter Editor's piece of the World Wide Web. This page contains information and advice intended to provide a most practical and pleasurable submission experience.

The next deadline for chapter submissions is May 1. All we want this time is pictures. Send us your best prints from film or high resolution digital images. Don't forget the captions.

To do it right, download our handy guide to submitting to The Magazine. This guide includes deadlines for chapter updates, and tips on how to submit riveting text and captivating photos in the correct format. Hit me with that nugget.

Next, get the guidelines for your chapter updates:

  • In order to make room for more creative submissions, we only accept Campus Chronicles chapter updates that are 150 words or less. So, choose your words carefully. If you submit 150 words and 50 of them are just fluff or padding, we'll only print the 100 words that are worth printing. The chapter update should be simply that, a chapter update.
  • More and more of you are sending in fabulous photos and enlightening essays for Campus Chronicles—the kind of material that keeps our pages exciting. If you'd like to submit a longer piece, please send it separate from your update. We welcome these types of submissions, so keep 'em coming!
  • E-mail your text submissions to magazine@sigmachi.org.
  • The subject line must include "SCHOOL NAME" and "CHAPTER NAME."
  • Include your own name, your school's name and your graduation year after the body of the text.
  • Editorial license will be applied to all submissions with regard to clarity, style, grammar and length.
  • Mail hardcopy photos developed from film (don't forget the captions) to The Magazine/1714 Hinman Avenue/Evanston, IL 60201/Attn: Chapter Submissions.

  • Again, DEADLINES are available in the latest issue of The Magazine, and by downloading our handy guide to submitting.

Questions? Please ask your friendly Magazine staff.

    Thanks,

Carolyn Brothen, Copy Editor and Circulation Manager
    Luke Marquard, Editor
    Krissy Claes, Associate Editor
