Ryan Barto, AMERICAN 2020, was initiaited into the Fraternity's Kappa Rho chapter on April 15, 2017. He is a Jersey Shore native and a first generation student at American University, studying political science and marketing. Since joining Sigma Chi, he has held positions such as Annotator, Tribune, anniversary chairman, Historian and Magister. Along with his responsibilities to Sigma Chi, Barto is active on campus and in the Washington, D.C., community. Barto is a barista, American University's student government chief of staff, senior advisor at the Center for Advocacy & Student Equity, and a member of many university committees, such as a sexual assault prevention working group. He also is president of the Rotary Club of Federal City in Washington, D.C., and at age 20 is among the youngest Rotary Club presidents in the world. Although for his age, Barto’s advocacy and fierce leadership has proven that you can never be too young to serve. Barto believes in the power of his generation to bring rightful change, with that change being led by Sigma Chi's undergraduate brothers.
