Tom grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area before attending college at the University of California, San Diego. During his undergraduate career, Tom served as Interfraternity Council (IFC) president among other offices within IFC, student government, his chapter and several other student organizations. In the final months of his term as IFC president, Tom was inspired to work for Sigma Chi as the IFC community went through the expansion process and he met with expansion teams from other fraternities. Following his graduation in 2015, Tom moved to Illinois to work in the alumni department before tranistioning to his role as associate director of leadership programs in July 2017.
As associate director of education and leadership programs, Tom's primary responsibilites include the ongoing development and implementation of all of the Fraternity’s educational and leadership curriculum. Tom manages the team in charge of administering all of Sigma Chi's educational programming for both undergraduates and alumni. He works closely with the alumni programs committee, which focuses on the training of alumni facilitators and chapter advisors. Additionally, Tom serves as the lead staff member in support of the Horizons Huntsman Leadership Summit.
